The Federal Fire Service (FFS), Gombe State Command, has participated in an Extended State Security Council Meeting convened by the Gombe State Government and presided over by His Excellency, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, at the Government House, Gombe.
The State Controller of the Service was represented at the meeting by the Operations Commander, SF Ahmed Ibrahim.
During the meeting, key security challenges confronting the state were extensively reviewed, including farmer–herder conflicts and emerging cases of kidnapping in parts of Akko and Shongom Local Government Areas. The Governor charged all security agencies to strengthen collaboration and intensify efforts to address these threats decisively.
The Council also approved the immediate ban on the buying and selling of condemned iron, metal, and steel materials, commonly referred to as “Bola Jari.” In addition, traditional rulers and landlords were directed to conduct thorough background checks on prospective tenants, with a warning that anyone found accommodating unknown or suspicious persons would face appropriate sanctions.
The Federal Fire Service reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to supporting inter-agency collaboration and security initiatives aimed at safeguarding lives and property across Gombe State.
