YULETIDE: OSUN NSCDC DEPLOYS 1,700 PERSONNEL, STEPS UP SECURITY AHEAD OF FESTIVE INFLUX

In anticipation of increased movement of residents and visitors into Osun State during the Yuletide season, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State Command, has deployed 1,700 personnel across the state to ensure the safety of lives and the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure.
The State Commandant, Commandant Igbalawole Sotiyo, disclosed this at the Command Headquarters, stating that comprehensive security measures have been put in place to guarantee a peaceful, safe, and hitch-free festive celebration.
According to him, the festive period often witnesses a surge in human and vehicular activities, making it necessary to strengthen security arrangements across the state.
Commandant Sotiyo explained that Area Commanders and Divisional Officers have been directed to strategically deploy personnel to places of worship, markets, motor parks, recreational centres, critical infrastructure, and other identified flashpoints.
He further charged all Divisional Officers to remain proactive and vigilant, stressing that the Command is working in close synergy with sister security agencies to ensure round-the-clock security before, during, and after the festivities.
The Commandant added that the deployment is supported by intensified visibility patrols, intelligence-led operations, and rapid response teams to swiftly address any security threat.
While warning miscreants and criminal elements to stay away from Osun State during and after the festive period, the NSCDC boss emphasized that the Command would deal decisively with anyone found attempting to disrupt public peace and order.
He also called on residents to support security efforts by promptly reporting suspicious persons or activities to the nearest security agency.
Commandant Sotiyo, on behalf of officers and men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Osun State Command, wished residents a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year, assuring them of the Corps’ unwavering commitment to maintaining a safe and secure Osun State.
