🚨 Festive Fire Danger Federal Fire Service Warns Against Storing or Transporting Fuel in Jerrycans
The Federal Fire Service has issued a strong safety alert to the public against storing fuel in jerrycans or travelling with fuel filled containers especially during the festive season. The Service described the practice as highly dangerous noting that it poses a serious fire risk capable of endangering lives property and public safety as movement and fuel consumption increase nationwide.
According to the Federal Fire Service fuel kept in jerrycans particularly when stored inside vehicles homes or crowded areas can easily ignite due to heat leakage or minor sparks leading to fire outbreaks and possible explosions. The Service stressed that a significant number of fire incidents recorded during festive periods are linked to unsafe fuel handling poor storage methods and negligence.
The Federal Fire Service urged motorists households and business operators to strictly adhere to fire safety guidelines by avoiding the storage and transportation of fuel in jerrycans and by using only approved standard containers where necessary. The Service also advised the public to remain vigilant on the roads and at home emphasizing that collective responsibility and safety consciousness are essential to ensuring a safe peaceful and enjoyable festive season.
