The State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nasarawa State Command, Commandant Brah Samson Umoru, has charged officers and men of the Command to remain proactive, vigilant, and professional throughout the Christmas and New Year festivities.
Commandant Umoru gave the charge during the Friday muster parade at the Command Headquarters, Lafia, where he emphasized the need for renewed commitment and heightened alertness before, during, and after the festive period to ensure effective service delivery.
He noted that the festive season is usually marked by increased movement, social activities, and public gatherings, which demand a stronger security presence and rapid response. He therefore urged personnel to be disciplined, dedicated, and responsive in the discharge of their duties to guarantee the safety of residents across the state.
The State Commandant further stressed the importance of professionalism, respect for human rights, and positive engagement with members of the public while carrying out security operations, reiterating that the protection of lives, property, and critical national assets remains the core mandate of the Corps.
He also called for sustained collaboration with sister security agencies to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free festive season in Nasarawa State, reassuring residents of the Command’s unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security. Commandant Umoru warned that any form of negligence or unprofessional conduct by personnel would attract appropriate disciplinary measures.
