FFS Katsina, SEMA Strengthen Collaboration on Disaster Response

The State Controller of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), Katsina Command, ACF Aliyu Abdullahi, on Wednesday received the Executive Secretary of the Katsina State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Hajiya Binta Hussaini Dangani, during a courtesy visit to his office.

In their meeting, both leaders explored practical and proactive strategies to curb the rising incidents of fire outbreaks across the state, particularly during the harsh and windy Harmattan season. They emphasised the need for early warning systems, public awareness, and improved community engagement to help prevent or minimise the impact of emergencies.

The visit also provided an opportunity to deepen institutional cooperation between the FFS and SEMA. The two agencies reaffirmed their commitment to working closely together, sharing resources, and improving response times in order to fulfil their joint mandate of saving lives, safeguarding communities, and protecting property.
