The Jigawa State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Muhammad Kabiru Ingawa, has reaffirmed the Corps’ strong commitment to strengthening inter-agency collaboration during a courtesy visit to the NAPTIP State Commander, Abdulkadir Mahmoud Turajo, at the NAPTIP State Command Headquarters in Dutse on 27th November, 2025.
The visit focused on enhancing operational cooperation in the fight against human trafficking, child labour, forced migration, sexual exploitation, and other human rights abuses across Jigawa State.
While speaking, Commandant Ingawa stressed the need for deeper synergy among security and law-enforcement agencies, noting that human trafficking is a complex crime that demands coordinated intelligence gathering, joint operations, and widespread community sensitization.
He stated:
“The NSCDC remains fully committed to supporting NAPTIP in every necessary area to curb human trafficking and protect vulnerable citizens. Strengthening our partnership is essential to preventing exploitation, promoting human dignity, and ensuring safer communities throughout Jigawa State.”
In his response, NAPTIP Commander Turajo expressed gratitude for the visit and praised the NSCDC for its professionalism, consistent support, and effective collaboration during past joint operations. He noted that the renewed partnership would further enhance ongoing efforts aimed at preventing trafficking, rescuing victims, and prosecuting perpetrators.
The meeting also discussed improved intelligence sharing, community-focused awareness programmes, joint capacity-building initiatives, and coordinated enforcement actions designed to tackle emerging trafficking trends in the state.
This visit underscores the unwavering dedication of the NSCDC Jigawa State Command to safeguarding lives, upholding human dignity, and working closely with partner agencies to promote a safer and more secure society.
