The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunde-Ojo, has charged officers and men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to execute their duties with renewed efficiency and commitment in line with the expectations of the President.
Dr. Tunde-Ojo delivered this charge during an unscheduled visit to the FCT Command, where he assessed personnel readiness and inspected key facilities to ensure adherence to the Corps’ mandate and standard operating procedures.
According to the Minister, the visit aligns with the President’s directive to ensure that all security formations are adequately equipped and prepared to tackle prevailing security challenges across the country.
During the inspection of the newly constructed quarter guard, the ongoing training ground, and other operational facilities, the Minister expressed satisfaction with the leadership and performance of the FCT Commandant, Dr. Olusola Odumosu. He emphasized that paramilitary operations thrive on continuous, proactive training to guarantee effective and efficient service delivery.
“The NSCDC plays a critical role in safeguarding internal and external security during this challenging period in our nation. We are here to assess your preparedness, and I must say that I am impressed by your dedication and performance,” Dr. Tunde-Ojo stated.
He urged officers and men of the Command to remain vigilant, dedicated, and mission-focused, noting that the level of preparedness observed reflects the Commandant’s forward-thinking leadership.
The Minister further assured the FCT Command of the President’s unwavering support for initiatives aimed at strengthening the Corps and enhancing national security.
