Brah Samson Umoru, Nasarawa NSCDC Commandant, Receives PSM 2025 Security Summit Award Nomination

The Chief Operating Officer and Editor-in-Chief of the People’s Security Monitor, Isiaka Mustapha, yesterday formally presented the official nomination letter for the 2025 Annual People’s Security Monitor Security Summit and Recognition Award to the Nasarawa State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Brah Samson Umoru. The brief but impressive ceremony took place at the NSCDC state headquarters in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.

In his remarks during the presentation, Mustapha said the nomination was in recognition of Commandant Umoru’s outstanding leadership, operational efficiency, and contributions to strengthening internal security in the state. He noted that the People’s Security Monitor considered verifiable achievements and measurable impact in its selection process, adding that Umoru’s record stood out clearly among several nominees assessed across the country.

Responding, Commandant Umoru expressed profound excitement over the nomination, describing it as both an honour and a challenge to do even more in the service of the nation. He said the recognition would further motivate him and his team to enhance community safety, improve rapid response operations, and intensify synergy with sister agencies in tackling emerging security threats.

Umoru also commended the management of the People’s Security Monitor for what he called their patriotic zeal and unwavering commitment to national development, particularly their consistent attention to the activities and reforms of the NSCDC. He noted that such independent recognition inspires personnel to remain dedicated and professional in delivering their mandate.

The Commandant further attributed every milestone recorded under his leadership to the support, encouragement and enabling working environment provided by the NSCDC Commandant General, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi. He affirmed that the guidance of the Corps’ helmsman has been instrumental in improving operational capacity and boosting the morale of officers and men across the Nasarawa Command.
