The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC has been officially nominated as the “Most Efficient and Productive Paramilitary Agency of the Year 2025” at the 2025 Annual People’s Security Monitor Security Summit and Recognition Award. The event will take place on Wednesday, 10th December 2025, at the Nigeria National Merit Award House, Maitama, Abuja, and will be attended by top security officials, leading security strategists, and other dignitaries from across the country. This nomination recognizes the NSCDC’s remarkable contributions to national security and its consistent record of operational excellence under the leadership of Commandant General Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi.

One of the main reasons the NSCDC deserves this prestigious recognition is its exceptional track record in combating crimes that threaten public safety. In 2025, the corps successfully intercepted multiple criminal networks involved in banditry, pipeline vandalism, and illegal mining operations. Hundreds of criminals have been arrested, and significant stolen assets recovered, showcasing the corps’ dedication to protecting lives and property. These efforts have enhanced community safety and strengthened economic activities in vulnerable regions.

Another factor highlighting the NSCDC’s efficiency is its rapid response capacity and proactive community engagement. With operational units deployed across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, the corps responds quickly to emergencies, kidnapping cases, and communal conflicts. Under Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi’s leadership, intelligence-driven operations and strong community partnerships have fostered trust between the public and security agencies, reducing incidents of violence in high-risk areas.

The corps’ commitment to continuous training and capacity building further demonstrates its suitability for the award. Professor Audi has prioritized professional development, modernization of equipment, and the establishment of specialized units for counter-terrorism, disaster management, and cyber security. These initiatives have ensured that NSCDC personnel are highly skilled, resilient, and capable of handling evolving security challenges across Nigeria.

Finally, the visionary leadership of Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi has strengthened inter-agency collaboration and national security strategy. The NSCDC works closely with the Nigerian Police Force, the military, civil society organizations, and community leaders to create a coordinated security framework. This collaboration maximizes operational efficiency, minimizes duplication of efforts, and enhances the safety of communities nationwide. His leadership has transformed the NSCDC into a professional, reliable, and highly respected paramilitary agency, making it a deserving nominee for the “Most Efficient and Productive Paramilitary Agency of the Year 2025.”
