Troops Raid Suspected Gunrunners’ Hideout, Recover Weapons in Plateau State

Troops of Sector 2, Sub Sector 2 of Operation Enduring Peace in Bokkos have carried out a successful raid on a suspected gunrunners’ hideout as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle armed criminal networks operating within the Joint Operations Area. The operation took place on 13 November 2025 at Fashoron Village in Daffo District, Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State. The suspects fled the area before the troops arrived.

During a detailed search of the location, the troops recovered one AK 47 rifle, one AK 47 magazine, one Sub Machine Gun, two Dane guns, forty two rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, eighty four rounds of 9mm ammunition, and twenty cartridges. Other items recovered included six mobile phones and three hundred and thirty thousand naira in cash.

All recovered items are now in safe custody, and efforts are underway to locate and apprehend the fleeing suspects.

The Joint Task Force Operation Enduring Peace reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining security within the Joint Operations Area, stressing that it will continue to deploy all lawful means to eliminate criminal elements and curb the spread of illegal weapons and ammunition.
