JUST IN: Retired Nigerian Army colonel found dead in Plateau state hotel

BT Vandi, a retired colonel of the Nigerian Army, was found dead in a hotel within the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) base camp in Buruku, Plateau State.

The retired officer checked into the hotel and was discovered deceased on July 16, 2024. His body was found by an attendant around 3:20 p.m.

According to a military signal obtained by SaharaReporters, the body of the deceased has been moved to the 3 Division Military Hospital in Jos for further investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

The signal stated:

AT ABOUT 161520A 24 TPS OF HQ 3 DIV RECEIVED INFO ON SUBJ, ON ONE COL BT VANDI (RTD) WAS FOUND DEAD IN AN HOTEL ROOM AT NDA BASE CAMP BUKURU PLATEAU STATE. TPS MOB TO THE SCENE AND MOVE THE CORPS TO 3DMSH FOR FURTHER ACTION. PIC ATTACHED.

The cause of Colonel Vandi’s death remains under investigation as authorities work to uncover more details.
