CC EA AJAYI HONOURED WITH PEACE AMBASSADOR AWARD BY NORTHERN PEACE FOUNDATION FOR EXEMPLARY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND COMMITMENT TO PEACE AND SECURITY IN SOKOTO STATE

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), under the leadership of CC EA Ajayi, has continued to demonstrate visionary leadership through stakeholders’ collaboration, peacebuilding initiatives, and strong community partnerships.

The Commandant was honoured with the Peace Ambassador Award by the Northern Peace Foundation in recognition of his outstanding contributions to community development, peace promotion, and security advancement across Sokoto State.

The award presentation ceremony was held at the NSCDC Sokoto State Command Headquarters on Tuesday, 4th November 2025, at about 1500 hours, in the presence of several principal officers of the Command.

The Coordinator of the Northern Peace Foundation, Comrade Yahusa Abdullahi, presented the award to the State Commandant, accompanied by an induction medal and the 2025 Northern Peace Foundation Magazine.

In a similar development, one of the principal officers of the Command, DCC M.S. Buda, who serves as the Head of Department (DPRS), was also conferred with the Peace Ambassador Award for his exceptional dedication to national service and his resilience in promoting peace, unity, and stability for the benefit of humanity.

Under the leadership of CC EA Ajayi, the Command has significantly strengthened grassroots collaboration and intelligence sharing between the Corps and community stakeholders.

Through strategic institutional partnerships, the Command has enhanced the collective response mechanism to emerging security challenges within the State.

These collaborative efforts have deepened public trust, improved the early warning system, and increased community participation in local security matters.

The Commandant’s open-door leadership philosophy has further enhanced public confidence, positioning the Sokoto State Command as a responsible and trusted institution among security agencies.

The Coordinator of the Northern Peace Foundation, Comrade Yahusa Abdullahi, expressed appreciation to the NSCDC Sokoto State Command for its transparency, accountability, and sustained efforts in maintaining a positive public image for the Corps.

In his acceptance remarks, CC EA Ajayi emphasized the importance of peace as an integral part of the State’s security architecture. He noted that sustainable peace can only be achieved through strategic community engagement and collaboration that foster social and humanitarian development for the collective survival of humanity.

The Commandant’s tenure has recorded remarkable achievements in socio-economic development, community-based intelligence sharing, and mitigation of security threats. He has also advanced the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure, strengthened synergy with other security agencies, and contributed significantly to reducing conflicts between farmers and herders in rural communities.
