The Kano State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Bala Bawa Bodinga, has paid a courtesy visit to the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jibril Isma’il Falgore, at the Assembly Complex in Kano.
The visit was aimed at consolidating the existing relationship and fostering closer collaboration between the Corps and the legislative arm of government to effectively address emerging security challenges across the State.
During the meeting, Commandant Bodinga expressed appreciation to the Speaker and Members of the Assembly for their consistent support to security agencies, particularly the NSCDC, in safeguarding critical national assets and infrastructure, curbing vandalism, and promoting peace within communities.
He reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to continued collaboration with the Assembly in areas such as security legislation, community engagement, and intelligence sharing, noting that strong institutional synergy is essential for maintaining peace and stability in Kano State.
In his remarks, Rt. Hon. Jibril Isma’il Falgore commended the NSCDC for its dedication and visible contributions to peace and security in the State. He assured the Commandant of the Assembly’s continued legislative backing and cooperation, especially in initiatives that enhance the Corps’ operational efficiency.
The Speaker also emphasized the need for joint efforts in educating the public against acts of vandalism, thuggery, and other forms of criminality that undermine the State’s socio-economic development.
The courtesy visit further created an avenue for both leaders to discuss areas of mutual interest, including capacity building, community policing, and youth engagement strategies aimed at promoting peace and sustainable development across the State.
