The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has paid tribute to the late Edo State Commandant, Commandant of Corps Agun Gbenga, describing him as a dedicated officer whose service and legacy will continue to inspire others in the Corps.
On Thursday, 16th October 2025, the Commandant General extended his condolences to the family of the deceased through a high-powered delegation from the NSCDC National Headquarters, Abuja. The delegation was led by Deputy Commandant General (DCG) Adeyinka Fasiu Ayinla, who heads the Directorate of Administration. The team visited the family residence of the late Commandant in Meran, Agbado, Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area, Lagos State.
Professor Audi, in his message, expressed the Corps’ deepest sympathies to the bereaved family, commending the late Commandant’s outstanding contributions to the growth of the NSCDC and Nigeria’s overall security framework. He prayed for the repose of his soul and for God to grant the family strength and comfort during this difficult period.
The family warmly received the NSCDC delegation and expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the Commandant General for his support and concern. DCG Ayinla, on behalf of the Commandant General, signed the condolence register in honour of the late officer, marking a solemn moment of respect and remembrance.
