14 BRIGADE HEADQUARTERS HONOURS NEWLY PROMOTED COLONEL GARBA IN GRAND DECORATION CEREMONY

The Headquarters of the 14 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Ohafia, came alive with colour and celebration on 15th October 2025, as Lieutenant Colonel U.A. Garba was decorated with his new rank of Colonel following his well-earned promotion, approved by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS).

The ceremony, held at the 14 Brigade Officers’ Mess, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Barracks, was presided over by the Commander, 14 Brigade, Brigadier General H.M. Bello, who congratulated Colonel Garba on his remarkable achievement. The Commander commended him for his professionalism, discipline, and exceptional contributions to the Nigerian Army, urging him to view the promotion as a renewed call to higher responsibility and national service.

In his remarks, Colonel U.A. Garba expressed profound gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General O.O. Oluyede (NAM), for finding him worthy of elevation. He also extended appreciation to his superiors, colleagues, and family members for their unwavering support and encouragement throughout his military career.

The newly promoted officer reaffirmed his commitment to uphold the core values of the Nigerian Army—loyalty, courage, and selfless service—pledging to continue contributing to the growth and efficiency of the Force.

The memorable occasion was graced by senior officers, soldiers, family members, friends, and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the milestone. The ceremony concluded with a group photograph and a luncheon in honour of the celebrant and his family.
