NSCDC Commandant General Prof. Audi Strengthens Grassroots Security and Innovation Drive in Anambra

The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to grassroots security and innovation during his official working visit to Anambra State, as part of his ongoing operational tour of the South-East region.

Prof. Audi was warmly received at the Government House, Awka, by the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo. He explained that the visit was aimed at assessing the welfare of personnel, identifying field challenges, and strengthening the Corps’ operational capacity for improved service delivery.

Speaking during the courtesy visit, the Commandant General commended the Soludo administration for its efforts in maintaining peace and order. He also called for enhanced logistical and infrastructural support to enable the Corps to perform more effectively in the state.

“Security must begin at the grassroots that’s where the people live, work, and build their future. The Corps remains steadfast in providing effective protection and ensuring that the trust of Nigerians, especially Ndi Anambra, in our operations is well placed,” Prof. Audi stated.

In his remarks, Governor Soludo praised the NSCDC for its professionalism and dedication, particularly in safeguarding critical national assets and public infrastructure.

“In Anambra, the Light of the Nation, our people are our greatest assets, they are creative, industrious, and innovative. Protecting their lives and livelihoods is a shared duty, and we appreciate the NSCDC for its unwavering role in achieving that,” the Governor said.

He further pledged continued collaboration with the Corps, emphasizing that security is the foundation for the state’s economic growth and innovation-driven development.

Prof. Audi’s visit forms part of a nationwide assessment tour focused on boosting personnel welfare, operational readiness, and inter-agency cooperation. It highlights the NSCDC’s renewed commitment to community trust, proactive engagement, and service excellence under his leadership.
