Edo NSCDC Commandant, Agun Gbenga, Dies After Collapsing at Public Event

The Edo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has announced the sudden death of its State Commandant, Agun Gbenga.

According to a statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, SC Ogbebor Efosa, Commandant Gbenga collapsed shortly after delivering a goodwill message at an event organized by the International Association of World Peace Advocates, held at the Bishop Kelly Pastoral Center in Benin City.

He was immediately rushed to the Military Hospital, where doctors confirmed him dead.

The statement described the late Commandant as an astute operations officer who worked tirelessly to protect lives and property in the state. It added that his humility, friendliness, and intelligence earned him the admiration and respect of colleagues and citizens alike.

“The NSCDC Edo State Command and indeed the nation have lost a dedicated officer. His dedication to duty and commitment to excellence will be deeply missed,” the statement read.

Commandant Agun Gbenga’s death has been described as a great loss to the Corps and the country.
