Miyetti Allah Pledges Peaceful Coexistence with Farmers During Visit to NSCDC Delta Command

The National Executive of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Rearers Association, Delta State chapter, on Friday paid a courtesy visit to the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Chinedu Igbo. The group expressed its full support for the peace initiative of the NSCDC Commandant General.

According to a statement by the State Command Public Relations Officer, DSC Anthony Uchenna, the visit was primarily to introduce the newly elected state executives of the association to Commandant Igbo. The delegation also emphasized the need for proper communication between the association and the command, noting that this would help resolve disputes more swiftly.

The association pledged to identify fake members and criminal elements hiding under its name to commit unlawful acts, while also committing to sustained efforts towards long-lasting peace between farmers and herders in Delta State.

In his response, Commandant Igbo urged the association to keep its members in check to prevent unnecessary conflicts with farmers. He further assured the delegation that their legitimate businesses remain safe in Delta State, as the command has put measures in place to protect them.
