The Delta State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Chinedu F. Igbo, has paid a courtesy visit to the Controller of Corrections, Delta State Command, CCS Raymond Mbadiwe Nwagu, at the Correctional Service Headquarters in Asaba.

Commandant Igbo expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and described the visit as part of his ongoing familiarization tour. He acknowledged the existing synergy between both agencies and emphasized the need for continued collaboration particularly in securing custodial centres across the state.

In response, Controller Mbadiwe shared insights into the critical role of correctional officers and custodial centres in maintaining internal security, drawing from his wealth of experience across various postings. He also highlighted key challenges currently facing the Correctional Service, notably the issue of overcrowding in custodial facilities.
