The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo State Command, has arrested two suspects for separate cases of theft involving a motorcycle and household property.
On September 10, 2025, operatives of the Command’s Intelligence Unit, acting on credible intelligence, apprehended 28-year-old Aina Ayotomide, a graduate, at Agbogbo area of Akure. A wine-coloured Bajaj motorcycle was recovered from him at the point of arrest. Upon interrogation, Ayotomide confessed to stealing the motorbike at Nova School Area, Ado Ekiti, and transporting it to Akure with the intention of selling it. He admitted that he resorted to theft after losing ₦130,000 money entrusted to him by his sister—on sports betting. The rightful owner, Mr. Amire Tope of Ado Ekiti, has since identified and reclaimed his motorcycle.
In a separate incident, on August 24, 2025, operatives arrested 30-year-old Tope Andrew of Olorunsogo, Yaba, Ondo, for breaking into a residence at Adebayo Compound, GRA, Ondo Town. He carted away solar lights, panels, and iron metal scraps belonging to Prince Adewole. The suspect confessed to the crime, stating his intention was to sell the stolen items.
Both suspects remain in NSCDC custody and will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.
