The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has redeployed its Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, to the Delta State Command, where he will serve as Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations.
Adejobi, who was recently promoted to the rank of Deputy Commissioner following the approval of the Police Service Commission (PSC), will now oversee security operations, crime control, and police-community relations in Delta State one of the country’s most sensitive security theatres.
Police authorities described his redeployment as a strategic posting, stressing that it was neither punitive nor controversial but a routine exercise aimed at strengthening operational capacity in critical commands.
Security sources noted that Adejobi’s background in public communication, operational leadership, and community policing positioned him well for his new role.
“The deployment of officers is a normal administrative procedure in the Nigeria Police Force. DCP Adejobi’s professionalism, commitment, and record of service made him a natural fit for this crucial responsibility,” a source said.
Meanwhile, the Force Headquarters has yet to announce his replacement as Force PRO at the time of filing this report.
