OPERATION FANSAN YAMMA: GOC 1 DIVISION UNDERSCORES TROOPS’ WELFARE DURING FAMILIARISATION TOUR OF SUB-SECTOR 5

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division and Commander, Sector 1 of the Joint Task Force North-West Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Major General Abubakar Sadiq Muhammed Wase, has reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare and effective administration of troops deployed in the field.

Major General Wase gave this assurance during a familiarisation visit to Sub-Sector 5, where he addressed troops at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Kachia on Tuesday, 26th August 2025.

While addressing the personnel, the GOC urged them to remain committed to the principles of force protection, maintain high standards of professionalism, and avoid all forms of conduct unbecoming of military service. He emphasized the importance of discipline, ethics, and operational readiness in achieving success in the ongoing joint operations.

As part of the tour, the GOC also visited the Nigerian Navy School of Armament Technology and the maritime component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA. There, he called for enhanced inter-service cooperation and synergy in order to maximize operational outcomes and ensure mission success.

In his remarks, the Commandant of the Nigerian Navy School of Armament Technology, Commodore Aminu Isa Chikaji, outlined the school’s contributions to joint operations, noting its pivotal role in training naval personnel involved in both Operation FANSAN YAMMA and Operation FUSHIN KADA.

The visit featured operational briefings, the presentation of souvenirs, and a symbolic tree-planting ceremony to commemorate the occasion.
