The Patriotic Guild of Security Writers has honoured the Jigawa State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Bawa Bala Bodinga, with an Award of Excellence in recognition of his outstanding performance within his first 100 days in office.

Presenting the award on behalf of the Guild during a brief but colourful ceremony in Dutse, the National President and Editor-in-Chief of People’s Security Monitor, Isiaka Mustapha, explained that the recognition was based on verifiable achievements recorded by the Commandant in strengthening security operations and fostering collaboration with stakeholders across Jigawa State. He noted that the Patriotic Guild of Security Writers, a professional body of journalists and analysts committed to promoting national security awareness, has been closely monitoring the activities of security chiefs nationwide, particularly newly appointed officers, with emphasis on their performance and impact within the first 100 days of assumption of duty. According to him, Commandant Bawa Bala Bodinga has distinguished himself in leadership, discipline, and community engagement, while his style of administration has brought renewed confidence to the NSCDC in Jigawa, especially in the areas of crime prevention, anti-vandalism campaigns, and the protection of critical national assets.

Since assuming office, Commandant Bodinga has reportedly facilitated stronger synergy between the Corps and other security agencies in the state, improved the welfare of officers and men, and enhanced operational efficiency through training, logistics support, and the deployment of modern strategies against emerging threats. These efforts, Mustapha stressed, have created visible results in a short time and contributed significantly to the overall security architecture of Jigawa State.

Community leaders and representatives of sister security agencies who attended the event equally commended the Commandant’s efforts, describing him as a dedicated officer whose leadership has raised the profile of the NSCDC in Jigawa. They also emphasised that his inclusive approach to security management has earned him the trust of both the government and the public.

In his acceptance speech, Commandant Bodinga expressed appreciation to the Patriotic Guild of Security Writers for the honour, dedicating the award to the officers and men of the NSCDC in Jigawa State. He said the recognition was not about him alone but about the collective hard work, sacrifice, and resilience of the entire Corps. He added that the award would only serve as motivation to do more in safeguarding communities, protecting national assets, and supporting the government’s wider security agenda.

The honour bestowed on Commandant Bawa Bala Bodinga, stakeholders observed, is a testament to the impactful leadership style he has brought to the NSCDC in Jigawa State.
