COMMANDANT INGAWA HOSTS NASARAWA BROADCASTING SERVICE EXECUTIVE VICE CHAIRMAN

The State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nasarawa State Command, Commandant Muhammed Kabiru Ingawa, today played host to the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nasarawa Broadcasting Service (NBS), Alhaji Awalu Salihu and his entourage during a courtesy visit to the State Command Headquarters in Lafia, the State Capital.

The visit, aimed at fostering a stronger working relationship between the Corps and the media, provided a platform for both parties to explore collaborative strategies for effective information dissemination, public enlightenment, and security awareness across the state.

In his welcome address, Commandant Ingawa expressed his appreciation for the pivotal role the media plays in promoting transparency, public trust, and community engagement in security operations. He emphasised that the Corps values its partnership with reputable media organisations like NBS, noting that such collaborations enhance public education on the mandate of the NSCDC, especially in the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure.

“We consider the media as a vital partner in the success of our mission. By working together, we can keep the public well-informed, strengthen community policing, and counter misinformation,” Ingawa stated.

In his remarks, the Executive Vice Chairman of NBS commended the NSCDC for its professionalism and commitment to safeguarding lives, property, and national assets in Nasarawa State. He assured the Command of the station’s readiness to provide fair and accurate coverage of the Corps’ activities while creating more platforms for public enlightenment on security issues.

The meeting concluded with a mutual resolve to deepen collaboration through regular engagement, timely information sharing, and joint public sensitisation programmes.
