INTER AGENCY COLLABORATION: NSCDC, POLICE STRENGTHEN RELATIONSHIP IN ONDO

In a deliberate effort to further strengthen the relationship between security agencies in Ondo state and foster a cordial operational relationship, the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ondo State command received the newly posted Commissioner of Police, Ondo state command in his office today, Thursday 24th July, 2025, at the command state headquarters, Akure.

The visit was aimed at strengthening and improving inter-agency cooperation, fostering cordial relationships, and enhancing mutual synergy between both agencies and other sister agencies, and it also gave an opportunity for the CP to familiarize himself with the NSCDC State Command.

During the meeting, Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Lawal, mnips, stated that the NSCDC is an agency he has interacted and familiar with over the years, noting he had enjoyed and still enjoys a robust relationship with the NSCDC.

“The Nigeria Police Force is ready to work with all and sundry, stakeholders, and sister agencies. Let’s support our leaders the IG and the CG. Ours is to work together to make them succeed. With transparency and accountability, all sister agencies will work together as a team no rivalry, no competition under my watch, the Nigeria Police will collaborate with the NSCDC and other sister agencies in Ondo State,” the CP stated.

The State Commandant, Commandant Oluyemi Ibiloye, cpo, mspsp, fwip, in his remark, appreciated the Commissioner of Police for his kind words and leadership style so far while  welcoming him to Ondo State and the NSCDC State Command.

The Commandant affirmed that the days of inter-agency rivalry are over and that security agencies have no option but to collaborate with the Nigeria Police as the lead agency in internal security.

Commandant Ibiloye also commended the CP for his impactful leadership since he assumed duty, stating the willingness to learn from his wealth of experience and knowledge as the chairman of the Heads of Security Forum in the state.

The visit provided a platform to strengthen cooperation and ensure a unified strategy in collaborating with critical stakeholders in securing the state.
