The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa State Command, under the leadership of the State Commandant, Commandant Bala Bawa Bodinga, on Tuesday, 22nd July 2025, received in audience a delegation from the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD), Jigawa State Chapter, on a courtesy visit to the State Headquarters in Dutse.
The delegation was led by the State Chairman of the Association, Hon. Adamu Shaaibu J/Tsada, who expressed appreciation to the Corps for its consistent support towards inclusivity, safety, and protection of vulnerable persons in the state. He emphasized the Association’s commitment to working closely with the NSCDC in areas of public safety awareness, civic education, and security advocacy among persons with disabilities.
In his remarks, Hon. Adamu Shaaibu acknowledged the strategic importance of the NSCDC in ensuring peace and protection of lives and property across communities, and sought deeper collaboration with the Corps to ensure that the rights and safety of persons with disabilities are upheld at all times.
Responding, Commandant Bala Bawa Bodinga warmly welcomed the delegation and appreciated the Association for recognizing the Corps’ efforts. He assured them of the NSCDC’s continued support and commitment to inclusive service delivery, particularly for marginalized and vulnerable groups in society. The Commandant emphasized the Corps’ zero tolerance for any form of discrimination and reaffirmed its readiness to partner with relevant stakeholders in promoting equality, safety, and mutual understanding.
The visit was marked by fruitful discussions on future areas of collaboration, particularly in the areas of awareness campaigns, capacity building, and community-based initiatives for persons with disabilities across Jigawa State.
The NSCDC Jigawa State Command remains resolute in its mandate of safeguarding lives, protecting critical national assets, and fostering unity, peace, and inclusive development.
