NSCDC ARRESTS 15-YEAR-OLD FOR SUSPECTED CULPABLE HOMICIDE IN KAFIN HAUSA LGA

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa State Command, has apprehended a 15-year-old boy, Ya’u Adamu ‘m’, of Auno Village, in Kafin Hausa Local Government Area, for a suspected case of culpable homicide.

The unfortunate incident occurred on Wednesday, 16th July 2025, at about 1130hrs, when the suspect allegedly beat one Barau Aliyu Beli ‘m’, 19years of age, a native of Beli Town, with a stick during a confrontation. The altercation reportedly began when the deceased was caught grazing his livestock into a farmland belonging to the suspect father, leading to a violent exchange which resulted in fatal injuries resulting to internal bleeding.

Upon receiving the distress report, NSCDC personnel from the Kafin Hausa Divisional Office responded swiftly and successfully apprehended the suspect at the scene. The victim was confirmed dead at about 1530hrs on Thursday 17th day of July 2025 after the incident.

Following preliminary investigation, the case classified as suspected culpable homicide has been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force Jigawa State Command for further investigation and possible prosecution. The suspect, relevant exhibits, and case file were officially transferred to police headquarters, Dutse.

The State Commandant, Commandant Bala Bawa Bodinga, reiterated the Corps’ commitment to upholding law and order, particularly in the area of conflict resolution between farmers and herders, and called on community members to avoid taking the law into their hands.

The Command also warns the public especially youth to desist from acts of violence and urges residents to report disputes to appropriate authorities for peaceful resolution.

The NSCDC remains resolute in maintaining peace, protecting the Corps mandate as well as lives and property, and supporting the rule of law across all communities in Jigawa State.
