The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Plateau State Command, is set to graduate a new cohort of Agro Rangers tomorrow, a major step in the state’s efforts to safeguard agricultural investments and enhance security in rural communities.
The Command announced that the newly trained officers will be deployed to key agricultural zones across the state to assist farmers, protect
farmlands, and prevent criminal attacks.
In anticipation of the passing-out ceremony, the Command has issued a firm warning to the graduating personnel, stressing zero tolerance for unethical behaviour, compromise, or abuse of authority. It emphasized that professionalism, discipline, and integrity must guide their
conduct as they assume their new roles.
“These young men and women have been trained to serve with honour. Any form of misconduct or compromise will not be tolerated,” stated a
senior officer of the Command.
The Agro Rangers unit was created to secure Nigeria’s agricultural sector, particularly in areas prone to banditry, farmer-herder
clashes, and other rural security challenges. Their deployment is expected to strengthen farmer confidence and contribute to increased
food production in Plateau State.
