Abia CP Orders Prompt Medical Care for Sick Suspects, Bans PoS Operations in Police Premises

Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, has issued fresh directives aimed at deepening professionalism and accountability within the Command, with emphasis on respect for human rights and strict compliance with internal regulations.

Addressing Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), Heads of Departments, and Tactical Unit Commanders during the Command’s monthly conference, CP Isa mandated that suspects with bailable offences must not be detained beyond the constitutionally prescribed 24-hour period. He also directed that any suspect requiring medical attention must receive immediate care.

Reiterating the importance of ethical conduct, the Commissioner warned that senior officers would be held vicariously liable for infractions committed by their subordinates, stressing the need for effective supervision and adherence to professional standards.

In a bid to preserve the integrity of police operations, CP Isa prohibited Point of Sales (PoS) activities within police facilities, urging officers to secure their commands, safeguard government assets, and foster partnerships with Local Government Mayors and residents in the fight against crime.

He also charged officers to remain apolitical, uphold the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) Social Media Policy, and exhibit renewed dedication to public service.

While commending the general performance of personnel across the Command, CP Isa singled out the Public Relations Officer, DSP Maureen Chinaka, for commendation. He congratulated her on receiving an award from the Inspector General of Police and for successfully completing a specialised short course on New Media Capacity Building in China.

The Commissioner noted that the achievements of officers like DSP Chinaka should serve as a motivation to others, encouraging all personnel to continue striving for excellence in service delivery.
