
In a proactive move to ensure maximum security and orderliness, the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nasarawa State Command, Commandant Muhammed Kabiru Ingawa, has announced the deployment of 2,857 personnel ahead of the scheduled Presidential Visit to the state.
The deployment, which spans across all 13 local government and development areas of the state, includes officers drawn from various tactical units of the Corps including the Counter-Terrorism Unit, Special Female Squad, Rapid Response Squad, Intelligence and Surveillance Unit, and the Disaster Management Unit.
*Commandant Ingawa* stated that the operation is part of the Corps’ mandate to provide strategic support in civil protection, crowd control, and critical infrastructure safeguarding. He emphasized the importance of inter-agency collaboration and assured the public of a peaceful and secure environment before, during and after the visit of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“We are fully prepared to provide a safe and secure atmosphere during Mr. President’s visit. The NSCDC remains committed to complementing the efforts of other security agencies to ensure the safety of lives and property in Nasarawa State,” *Commandant Ingawa* said.
The Commandant also urged residents of Nasarawa State to remain law-abiding and to cooperate with security operatives, especially at designated security checkpoints. He called on the public to report any suspicious movement or activity to the nearest security post.
This strategic deployment underscores the Corps’ readiness and dedication to national peace and stability, particularly during events of national importance.
