Nigerian Navy intercepts, impounds illegal refined PMS drums, deactivates unauthorised refinery

The Nigerian Navy said its personnel of Forward Operating Base Ibaka has intercepted and impounded a wooden boat laden with drums containing illegally refined PMS.

It wrote on its verified Facebook page; “On Tuesday 10 June 2025, Forward Operating Base IBAKA intercepted and impounded a wooden boat laden with drums containing illegally refined PMS which was en route the Republic of Cameroon.

“On Wednesday 11 June 2025, Nigerian Navy Ship DELTA discovered and deactivated an illegal refinery site with a wooden boat, pumping machine, 4 dug out pits and several drums laden with an unspecified amount of stolen Crude Oil in Obodo Omadino Community, Warri South-West LGA, Delta State.’
