The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has dismantled an illegal crude oil operation in Abia State, seizing over 3,000 litres of syphoned crude oil.
The crackdown, led by the Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad (CG’s SIS), was carried out in Obiakpu Community, Obuzor-Asa, Ukwa West Local Government Area.

According to a statement posted by the Corps on Facebook, the CG’s SIS destroyed the illicit oil, which had been stored in cellophane bags, and recovered several items, including a gold-coloured Toyota Avalon suspected to be used for transporting the stolen produc
In addition, operatives uncovered a hidden “candle valve” — an illegal connection point used to tap into a major oil pipeline. Photos from the operation show officers combing through dense vegetation and digging up parts of the illegal infrastructure.
