Commandant Ishaku Musa, the helmsman of the Plateau State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has reaffirmed the Corps’ steadfastness in combating illegal mining activities within Plateau State, emphasizing the NSCDC determination to thwart the illicit and unpatriotic actions of illegal miners in the region.
‘’We have been consistent in our battle against illegal mining in Plateau State, so much so that our operatives have become nightmares to the illegal miners. We are conscious of the grave damage their fraudulent activities are causing the economy, as well as the environmental hazards. Unregulated mining activities portend doom for any nation, and we will not subject Nigeria to the whims and caprices of economic saboteurs.
I can assure you that just as we have been aggressive in arresting illegal miners in Plateau State, we also prioritize ensuring strict compliance with the documentation and approval processes for mining activities.
Only recently, we apprehended scores of illegal miners in line with the subsisting order issued by the state government suspending all mining activities in the state.” Commandant Musa said.
