Nigerian Navy takes custody of 50-acre land donated by Olota

The Nigerian Navy has announced that it has officially taken over 50 acres of land donated by the Olota of Ota, His Royal Majesty, Professor Adeyemi Obalanlege.

In a statement on its official verified Facebook page, the Navy said the handover took place at the Olota’s palace during a brief ceremony to sign the Deed of Assignment.

According to the Facebook post: “The signing was carried out by the Olota of Ota and the Commandant of the Nigerian Navy Ship QUORRA, Commodore Benjamin Onalo, who represented the Nigerian Navy.

“In his remarks, Commodore Onalo expressed profound gratitude to His Majesty and the royal family for the generous donation. He also assured the community that the land would be used judiciously to enhance naval operations and improve overall security in Ota.

“The Olota of Ota praised the role of the Navy in maintaining peace and security within the kingdom and stated that the donation would significantly strengthen naval presence in Ota.

“Commodore Onalo was accompanied by the Acting Commanding Officer of the Nigerian Navy School of Music, Lieutenant Commander Olaiya, and other officers. Also present at the ceremony was the head of the family that donated the land, Alhaji Tajudeen Aina, as well as other eminent members of the Olota’s council of chiefs.”
