KOGI NSCDC COMMAND REPATRIATES CHILD TRAFFICKING VICTIMS

On the 8th day of April 2024 at about 1600hrs a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) The Challenged Parenthood Initiative handed over a Case of Child Trafficking to the Command for further investigation alongside 1 suspect by name Taiwo Adedeji “F” 42yrs and 2 Victims by names Ayomide Owa “F” 17yrs and Aduragbemi “F” 15yrs. 

However, further investigation led to the arrest of two other suspects.

1. Owa Comfort “F” 44yrs who is the mother of the victims

2. Afese Ogunshola “M” 42yrs who is the husband to the first suspect. Investigation revealed that  the mother of the Victims Owa Comfort took her two children to the first suspect to help her transport them to Tunisia for domestic jobs as they proclaimed, the victims were supposed to go through an agent in Kaduna who will perfect their movement to Tunisia but the victims were arrested at kabba in Kogi State.

In the spirit of synergy and collaboration the Command pragmatically handed over the victims and their mother  to the Honorable Commissioner, Kogi State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development lokoja to repatriate them to Ekiti State government through the same Ministry in Ekiti State while investigation  Continues.

The State Commandant warned desperate parent who might want to allure their children into hard labour ,abuse and unwarranted movement that will prompt them to hardship. He assured the general public the Corps commitment to bring the perpetrators of such heinous act to book while seeking for their unwavering support for vital information that will be useful at all time .
