BRIGADIER GENERAL IBRAHIM BABATUNDE GAMBARI ASSUMED COMMAND OF 18 BRIGADE NIGERIAN ARMY

Brig Gen Ibrahim Babatunde Gambari assumed command as the 3rd Commander of the 18 Brigade Nigerian Army, Bida on 28 January 2025. The change of command took place at the Brigade Headquarters Litani Barracks in Niger State, following the Nigerian Army’s routine officer redeployment.

During the handover ceremony, outgoing Commander Brig Gen Taiye Ahmed delivered a farewell address to the officers at the Brigade commander’s office, expressing appreciation for the support received during his tour of duty as the Commander. He urged officers to provide same support to the incoming Commander. He thereafter formally handed over signed documents and the office flag symbolizing command transfer.

The ceremony continued at the parade ground, where Brig Gen Ahmed introduced Brig Gen Gambari and gave farewell address to the troops, including soldiers, Magajiyas, and Barracks women.

The event concluded at the quarter guard, where the outgoing commander’s flag was lowered and the incoming commander’s flag was hoisted to signify the complete transfer of command and control of the 18 Brigade to Brig Gen Ibrahim Babatunde Gambari.
