NSCDC MINING MARSHAL UNVEILS 2025 OPERATIONAL STRATEGY, SET TO CRACKDOWN ON ILLEGAL OPERATORS AS CADASTRE OFFICE STRENGTHENS EXISTING COLLABORATIONS

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Mining Marshals have unveiled the year 2025 Strategic Operational plans which centered on enhancing field operations, improving on regulatory compliance, renewed fight against illegal mining activities and collaborations with Mining Cadastre office for effective prosecution of Corps’ mandate.

Describing the achievements and successes of the Mining Marshals, the Director-General of the Nigeria Mining Cadastre office; Engr. Obadiah Nkom commended the high level of Professionalism, bravery and resilience in spite of various challenges impeding the war against illegal mining in the Country.

He further described the NSCDC Mining Marshals as a catalyst to National Development as they have sworn to salvage the nation’s economy from saboteurs noting that the NSCDC Mining Marshals have refused to succumb to life threats, financial inducement and overwhelming pressure from internal or external forces.

DG Nigeria Mining further lauds the Corps’ Mining Marshals for upholding the Corps’ Integrity with unwavering sacrifice as their efforts have been pivotal to the achievements of the nation’s mining sector.

“We must acknowledge the commitment of the NSCDC Mining Marshals under the leadership of Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni OFR, whose leadership has brought tremendous transformation to the mining industry as the Corps remains an indomitable force combating the scourge that undermines our nation’s economic potentials and environmental sustainability”.

In alignment with the determination ro bolster the mining sector the Squad Commander, AC John O. Attah received assurances of unalloyed support from the Nigeria Mining Cadastre Office who hinted that there would be automation of services, systems upgrade that would streamline license verification processes and enhance transparency while strengthening the Mining Sector’s Regulatory Framework.

In his remarks AC John Attah reaffirmed the NSCDC resolve to intensify crackdown on all illegal mining operators, he noted that the Mining Marshals would ensure that legitimate mineral titleholders can access their resources without any interference hence the renewed vigour and existing collaborations would of course play a significant role in addressing environmental and community challenges associated with unauthorised mining activities across the nation.
