The State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Abia State; Commandant Akinsola Aderemi has read the riot act to all Vandals and criminal minded persons causing mayhem and economic sabotage in the State.

Akinsola made this call after a Strategic Security Council meeting with the Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Dr Alex Otti OFR; and Security Service Commanders across the State.

He expressed readiness to work in collaborations with the government in power and all sisters security agencies, Royal Fathers, Civil Society Organization, Faith Based Organization and Community youths to enhance the Security architecture of the State noting that all hands would be on deck.

“We have witnessed series of attack against innocent citizens and Security operatives; it is very imperative to affirm that it will not be business as usual henceforth'”.

“Our Corps Mandates hinged on Safeguarding all Critical Assets and Infrastructure, Disaster Management, Training, Supervision, Monitoring and Issuing of operating license to Private Security Guard Companies amongst others; thus, as a new Sheriff in town we will protect these Infrastructures with utmost dedication and efficiency “.

“Assuredly, in collaborations with reputable stakeholders, we will smoke out all criminal minded persons sabotaging the efforts of our amiable Governor and the Security agencies “

“Our meeting with His Excellency is very apt and timely as issues bothering effective security coverage of the State were spelt out; NSCDC Abia State Commamd under my watch will not tolerate any act of sabotage against government and its Infrastructures”.

The Abia NSCDC Boss further assured the public of prompt response to distress calls noting that the Emergency Response Unit, Crack Squads and Operation Crush would always be on guard for swift attention when the need arises.

He however directed all Divisional Officers across the 17 Local Government Area to upscale their Intelligence base urging the public to partner with the Command by reporting all suspicious movements and acts of criminalities to the Command for possible arrests and prosecution.

“It’s a notable fact that Security is a matter of general concern and we all have a role to play, I therefore urge the public to have confidence in us by giving credible Intelligence that would lead to the arrest of those criminals from their hideouts, so that together we can make Abia State a safe haven for all residents”.
