The State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Anambra State Command, Maku Olatunde, has commissioned a one-storey Cooperative Multipurpose building of NSCDC Anambra State Command during the 15th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the society .
The event, which took place at the Cooperative house behind Nigeria Immigration State Headquarters, Agu Awka, Anambra State, on Friday 22nd of November 2024 was a significant milestone for the NSCDC Anambra Staff Cooperative, Investment and Credit Society Limited.
Comdt. Maku, who performed the commissioning on behalf of the Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, commended the executives for their impressive achievement. He described the edifice as a testament to the cooperative’s commitment to providing quality services to its members.
He expressed his satisfaction with the management of the society stating that the project will not only generate income for the society but would enhance their operational capacity.
While congratulating the executives for providing quality, inclusive and transparent administration as well as providing immeasurable welfare packages for members, he enjoined them not to rest on their oars.
The Cooperative President, Superintendent of Corps Tochukwu Umeohana, in his speech said the multipurpose building, which was financed through membership savings and patronage, consists of an event hall, warehouse, office flats, shops, and a mini mart.
He highlighted cooperative’s successes, including prompt payment of benefits to retirees and deceased family members, distribution of 100 plots of land, and prompt access to loans.
The event also featured the presentation of the 2023 Audited Annual Report, presentation of retirement benefits to members, and a raffle draw.
