In a statement released on Saturday, Commandant Ismaila Abdullahi revealed that the suspects were arrested during a coordinated sting operation. This operation was conducted in partnership with the troops of the Nigerian Army’s Operation Whirl Stroke.

Abdullahi confirmed that the arrested individuals have confessed to their involvement in the crime. He assured that they will face prosecution following the completion of the ongoing investigation.

The tragic incident, which also claimed the life of the father of Professor Theophilus Lagi, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), unfolded in late May. Comrade Daniel Umaru Lagi was abducted in Wamba on May 28 and was found dead in early June, just days after his kidnapping.

This case has drawn significant attention due to the high-profile nature of the victim’s family and the swift response by the security forces.
