NSCDC nabs four suspected vandals, uncovers over 100 motorcycles hidden in FG’s silos

Operatives of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Yobe State Command have arrested four suspected vandals, who destroyed multi-million-naira equipment at the Federal Government’s Grains Reserve silos, located in Damaturu, the state capital.

The state NSCDC Commandant, Grema Baba Sanda who paraded the suspects, said the command discovered that a lot of equipment at the silos was stolen, adding that the four suspects were arrested in connection with the vandalisation of the equipment at the silos.

He listed the vandalised items to include: solar equipment, lifting machines, roofing sheets and armoured cables, among others.

The command’s operatives also discovered over 100 motorcycles stored in one of the structures within the premises of the grains reserve

“We have no idea who these motorcycles belong to; only an investigation will reveal the true owner(s)”, he said.

The state NSCDC Commandant, Grema Baba Sanda, said the motorcycles would be evacuated to the command’s headquarters until the owner(s) surface.
