Katsina Gov Hails Military For Neutralizing Bandits’ Kingpin, 30 Others

Governor Umaru Radda of Katsina State has commended the Nigerian military for neutralizing a notorious bandit leader, Buhari Halidu, popularly known as Buharin Yadi, alongside his accomplices numbering over 30.

In a press statement issued by the chief press secretary to the governor, Ibrahim Kaula, the state commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Nasir Mu’azu, disclosed that the decisive action occurred in a targeted military operation spanning across Katsina and Kaduna states.

The statement read, “The operation, coordinated with intelligence targeted key areas in both states, including Katsina’s Dorawar Yan Kaji, Ginanna, and Kaduna’s Samunaka, Sirdi and Kan Dawa. This enabled the military to track down and eliminate the terrorist kingpin and his lieutenants.

“Buharin Yadi, a long-standing fugitive on the security wanted list, was notorious for his involvement in large-scale criminal activities including kidnapping, cattle rustling, arms trafficking, and drug distribution. His reign of terror has inflicted immense hardship and fear upon communities in Katsina and the entire northwest Nigeria for nearly a decade.”

The governor commended the bravery and dedication of the Nigerian military personnel involved in the operation, emphasizing their crucial role in restoring peace and stability to the region.

He also expressed gratitude on behalf of the people of the region for their relentless efforts to protect lives and property from criminal elements, reassuring his administration of support for the ongoing efforts to eradicate criminal elements from the region.
