The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, on 30 September 2026 paid a courtesy visit to former Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Jonah Domfa Wuyep, in a gesture that reflected the Nigerian Air Force’s strong tradition of recognising and honouring its past leaders.The visit provided an opportunity for Air Marshal Aneke to engage with one of the senior officers whose contributions helped shape the growth and transformation of the Nigerian Air Force over the years. The meeting also served as a platform for the CAS to tap into the wealth of experience, leadership insight and institutional knowledge accumulated by the former Air Chief during his years of service.Speaking during the visit, Air Marshal Aneke emphasised the importance of maintaining close ties with former service chiefs, noting that such engagements help preserve the history, values and institutional memory of the Nigerian Air Force. He said the contributions of past leaders remain vital to the continued development and success of the Service.The CAS further stated that the experiences and achievements of former Chiefs of the Air Staff continue to inspire serving officers, airmen and airwomen to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, dedication and selfless service to the nation.The visit highlighted the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to fostering continuity in leadership, strengthening institutional heritage and ensuring that the lessons of the past remain a guide for future generations entrusted with safeguarding the country’s airspace and national security.
