The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, Dr. Olusola Odumosu, has pledged to deploy additional personnel to enhance security in Bwari Area Council, an area notorious for kidnappings within the FCT.
Odumosu made this commitment during a working visit to Bwari Area Council, where he emphasized the importance of partnering with the Area Council administration to address insecurity in the Council and its surrounding areas.
While addressing the Area Council management, led by the Chairman, Hon. John Gabaya, the Commandant highlighted the Corps’ dedication to ensuring the safety and security of all Bwari residents.
In a statement, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Samuel Idoko, reported that Odumosu assured the Chairman and his team that “NSCDC FCT Command is committed to providing the necessary support, from enhanced intelligence sharing to the deployment of additional personnel as needed.
“We are dedicated to working closely with the Area Council to ensure that our communities remain peaceful and safe.”
The FCT Command helmsman condemned the wave of kidnappings that occurred in Bwari Area Council at the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024, while commending security agencies for their swift response in managing the situation.
