Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command have arrested two suspected members of a notorious “One Chance” robbery syndicate during an operation around the Court of Appeal Junction in Abuja.The suspects, identified as Okwudili Benjamin, 41, and Chinedu Mbaka, 37, were apprehended on Sunday, 20 September 2026, while travelling in a Toyota Camry believed to have been used in their criminal activities.Items recovered from the suspects included nine Android mobile phones, a pair of pliers, a wheel lock and other exhibits suspected to be linked to robbery operations.Police investigations subsequently led to the arrest of an alleged receiver of stolen property, Osondu Benard, at the NPC Junction area of Nyanya, Abuja.Preliminary findings indicate that the suspects may be connected to a network involved in dispossessing unsuspecting commuters of their valuables under the guise of commercial transportation, a criminal method commonly known as “One Chance”.The three suspects are currently in police custody, while detectives continue investigations aimed at uncovering other members of the syndicate and recovering additional stolen items.
