The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ekiti State Command, Commandant Sotiyo Igbalawole Emmanuel, has called for stronger collaboration between the Corps and the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) to enhance security and effectively tackle emerging threats in the state.The Commandant made the call when he paid a courtesy visit to the Comptroller of the NIS, Ekiti State Command, M. I. Otu, pcc, at the Immigration Command Headquarters along the Ado Ekiti Ijan Road, Ado Ekiti.The visit formed part of Commandant Igbalawole’s familiarisation engagements with key stakeholders and sister security agencies following his assumption of office in the state.He said closer inter agency cooperation was essential to maintaining peace, protecting residents and responding promptly to emerging security challenges across Ekiti.Igbalawole particularly sought greater collaboration between the NIS and the NSCDC Anti Human Trafficking and Irregular Migration Unit, stressing that coordinated efforts could strengthen the fight against human trafficking and irregular migration.He also emphasised the importance of intelligence sharing, joint operations and regular communication between the two agencies, noting that security challenges increasingly require coordinated responses rather than isolated efforts.The NSCDC Commandant assured the Immigration Service of his commitment to maintaining a cordial and productive working relationship with the NIS and other sister security agencies operating in Ekiti State.He said stronger operational synergy would improve information flow, facilitate timely interventions and enhance the overall security of communities across the state.The visit provided an opportunity for both agencies to reaffirm their commitment to inter agency cooperation and effective service delivery, with a shared objective of safeguarding lives and property and promoting peace in Ekiti State.
