VGN Approves National Register Project to Strengthen Membership Management Nationwide

By Tunji Braimoh, Abuja

The Commandant General/National Chairman of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), Otunba James Udoma, has approved the implementation of the VGN National Register Project, a strategic initiative designed to strengthen the organisation’s membership registration, identification, verification, and database management system across the country.
As part of the project rollout, the Commandant General formally presented a Letter of Engagement to the Managing Director of Societrics Ltd, Mr. Godspower Omolere, during a ceremony held on 31 August 2026 at the VGN National Headquarters in Abuja. The presentation marked a significant milestone in the establishment of a modern, centralised, and technology-driven national register for the organisation.
The National Register Project is expected to improve membership administration, facilitate accurate digital record-keeping, enhance personnel verification processes, and promote seamless coordination among VGN formations nationwide. It will also provide a reliable database for planning, operational management, and organisational development.
Speaking on the initiative, the VGN leadership described the project as a major step towards institutional strengthening and the adoption of global best practices in personnel management, accountability, and data-driven administration.
The project underscores the organisation’s commitment to professionalism, transparency, and operational efficiency as it continues to support community-based security efforts across Nigeria.
