The Commandant General and National Chairman of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), Otunba James Udoma, has inaugurated a seven-member National Reconciliation and Interface Committee as part of efforts to address grievances among members and strengthen unity within the organisation.

The committee was inaugurated on Friday at the VGN National Headquarters in Abuja, with a mandate to engage aggrieved members, resolve lingering disputes, and promote cohesion across the organisation.

Speaking during the inauguration, Udoma said the committee would serve as a structured platform for dialogue, enabling members to present their concerns while fostering reconciliation and mutual understanding among stakeholders.

According to him, the committee is expected to receive and review complaints from concerned members, facilitate constructive engagement, and submit recommendations aimed at strengthening peace, discipline, and organisational effectiveness.

The committee is chaired by Deputy Commandant General (DCG) Mohammad Yunusa Idris, while Assistant Commandant General (ACG) Bolaji Abdulrahaman will serve as Secretary. Other members include DCG Jibril Aliyu, ACG Igho Akeregha, ACG Seyi Araromi, DCG Ibrahim Salihu, and ACG Mariam.

The inauguration underscores the commitment of the new VGN leadership to building a united, professional, disciplined, and peaceful organisation where disagreements are resolved through dialogue, established procedures, and responsible leadership.

Udoma reiterated that unity remains critical to the effectiveness, credibility, and growth of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, especially as the organisation continues to enhance its support for community safety and national security efforts within the framework of the law.

He expressed confidence that the committee would play a significant role in fostering reconciliation and restoring confidence among members, thereby advancing the collective goals of the organisation.

The move is widely seen as a strategic step toward strengthening internal harmony and ensuring that the VGN remains focused on its core mandate of supporting security and community development across the country.
