NSCDC Nasarawa Command Strengthens Security Partnership


The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nasarawa State Command, Commandant Brah Samson Umoru, has paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Lafia, Professor Mohammed Isa Kida, as part of efforts to strengthen security collaboration between the Corps and the institution.
During the visit, Commandant Umoru underscored the importance of sustained cooperation between security agencies and academic institutions in promoting a safe and conducive learning environment. He described educational institutions as critical national assets that require adequate protection against evolving security threats.
The Commandant reaffirmed the NSCDC’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property within the university community and its environs. He noted that effective intelligence sharing, regular engagement, and joint security initiatives would significantly enhance the security architecture of the institution and the host community.
He further stressed the need for continuous collaboration between the Corps and the university management, stating that proactive partnerships are essential for addressing emerging security challenges and maintaining peace on campus.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mohammed Isa Kida, expressed appreciation for the visit and commended the NSCDC for its contributions to maintaining peace and security across Nasarawa State. He assured the Commandant of the university’s readiness to work closely with the Corps in ensuring the safety and well-being of students, staff, and members of the host community.
The visit highlights the growing partnership between the NSCDC and Federal University Lafia and reflects a shared commitment to fostering a secure academic environment conducive to teaching, learning, and research.
