Anti- Government Protest: Delta NSCDC Warns Against Vandalism of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure

The Delta State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Suleiman Jimoh on Monday said the NSCDC wiuld not tolerate any act of vandalisation of critical national assets, just as it would not give room for sabotage and insecurity act to protesters in the proposed nationwide anti-government protest being planned by some human rights activists.

his proactivity towards the planned nationwide protest by some human rights activists and Nigerian youths, to publicly express their displeasure over hunger and hardship, during a meeting with Strategic State NSCDC Managers consisting of Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, Heads of Departments/Tactical Units.

Commandant Jimoh who disclosed this during a vital meeting of the State NSCDC Area Commanders, Divisional Officers and Heads of Departments/Tactical Units stressed the need for NSCDC personnel to team up with other security agents in the state to help halt hoodlums who might want to hijack the preotest for destructive agenda, while the rights of residents to protest in a peaceful manner.

Subsequently, Commandant Jimoh urged residents to be vigilant and report suspicious activities to any of the closest security personnel/station.

He therefore, warned that any attempt to disrupt Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI), which could lead to an act of economic sabotage, treasonable felony, jeopardize national security and public safety will be met with full force of the law.

He therefore urged all Deltans to go about their lawful business and remain calm.
